The one that wouldn't go to plan

I kept doing things wrong with this, but with a little determination, I finally managed to put it all right and here is the finished project

Some quick Christmas cards

The ex-DH wanted me to do some cards for some of his work colleagues. I had no idea what to do, but I hope he likes what I did come up with. I'm calling them "lazy cards" because all the bits came out of kits!

This one is one of my favourites. I LOVE how it turned out!

I wanted to do something original with this, so I layered up the parcels a bit with lots of sticky squares. I think it brought some life to the card!

Lastly - I designed a card for a friend for a secret swap - I wanted to make it personal to her, so I added her name and made it using her favourite colours.

Picking up some old crafts

I got sent a lovely crafty package as part of a swap I was involved in on Punkymoms which included some beautiful handmade knitting needles. I decided to pick up the sticks again last night, I haven't knitted for a while, but it's like riding a bike - so I found my old magazines and some scraps and began to make one of Alan Dart's farm animals. I got halfway through the body and put it down for a nap, but my DS decided to go through my bag and took it off the needles. I haven't inspected the damage yet, but I suspect I'm going to have to frog the whole lot and only work on it after the kids are in bed.

A long one today!

First off, some older stuff today.

A birthday card for my dads 64th birthday

A christmas card

Another christmas card made with a 'Me to you' craft set

Some WIP's - I'm not sure I like the gift one yet.

And just for funsies - my not-so-organised crafting area - it's a large under-stair cupboard which is doubling at the moment as a Christmas present hiding place, so it's rather more cramped than usual!
EIGHT drawers of stuff!

And a large box with all my plain cardstock and magazines - the plastic zip bag at the bottom currently has all my christmas papers and bits in it - I'm forever looking for them so I put them all together!

There you go, nice long entry for once!

Punk birthday card

A friend asked me to create a card for her sister's 15th birthday - the only idea she gave me, was that she liked "punk" stuff - so this is what I came up with.

The skull and checked paper was printed off from www.glogster.com and the toppers were just plain card/paper stock written on by hand with an embossing ink pen and black glitter embossing powder. I know it's a little wonky, but I think that adds to the effect!

I loved creating this project as I came up with the whole idea myself. I was duely informed that the recipient was very pleased with the card too - I love making people happy with my creations!

Pause in life...

Thanks to everyone for reading my blog, but due to some life decisions, I will be putting the blog on hold for the time being. Watch this space and hopefully I will be back shortly with some new stuff and with a fresh mind! Thanks for reading xxx

Market/bootfair bargains

I found a papercraft stall at our local market. I managed to get a neat little set of craft knives in a box for £2.50, a cutting mat for £3 and a lettering stencil for £1.20! I was pretty impressed with my haul, then when I paid for it, the lady running the stall asked me if I made cards myself and handed me a small bundle of card toppers - for free! Then my DS woke up from his nap extremely grumpy, so I tried to get him away from the bustle to give him a cuddle. DD wanted to look at the bits on the stall some more, so the lovely lady gave her a sheet of peel-off flowers! She had great fun decorating them up for her nanny's birthday [tomorrow]. I shall get some pictures of them sorted soon too.

Whilst we're on the topic of pictures, I am still trying to get them sorted out. I want to get some kind of watermark across them to prevent people claiming my work as their own, but haven't quite worked out how to do it yet ;) But as soon as I can, I will get the pictures uploaded :)

Pics soon!

I lost the xD card for my camera. My 'day job' had new 512mb cards in the warehouse for £2, so I picked up the last one last night - so there will be new pictures very soon.

Of course, sod's law says as soon as I installed the new card, the old lost one turned up *doh* but oh well. I'll have one for kidlet pics and one for card pics.

Watch this space!

Intro!

Hello!

Ok, I have little to no idea what I'm doing with this at the moment, so please bear with me whilst I get things going. I intend to use this blog to display my own work as a card maker - hopefully getting my work some exposure. I currently class myself as a beginner in this field of craftiness or creativity, but have had several positive comments on my work and wanted to gain some pointers from others who may be more knowledgeable than I.

I'm still experimenting with both my craft work and this site, so once again, please bear with me whilst I familiarise myself with the controls etc.

Thanks for reading!!
